Connecting for Health was created as a public-private collaboration with goals to improve people's health and advance the quality of health care in the United States through innovations in information technology. We have tackled the challenges of creating a networked health information environment that has enabled secure and private information sharing.
The Connecting for Health Steering Group has been comprised of representatives from a broad spectrum of leading health and technology providers and innovators. The Steering Group has provided ongoing direction and oversight since its establishment in 2002.
With each phase of work, Connecting for Health has convened experts from across the health care and technology spectrum into new working groups. Typically, working groups have been assembled to tackle a specific aspect of the policy or technical requirements for private and secure health information exchange.
