Question: Will you keep in effect President Clinton's executive order that eliminated sexual orientation as a reason for denying federal employment?
Submitted from John of Washington, D.C. through Web White & Blue 2000 (10/04/00)

Answer from George W. Bush:

There Is No Room For Discrimination In A Bush Administration
I oppose discrimination of any kind.

As Governor of Texas, I do not ask the sexual orientation of people who work for me, and as President I will not ask my employees their sexual orientation. I believe someone's sexual orientation is their own personal business. What is an issue to me is whether a person shares my compassionate conservative philosophy, and can they do the job. I've got a record of tolerance as the Governor of the state of Texas, and I will continue that record of tolerance as President.
