SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR BUSH CROSSES PARTY LINES

Governor Bush is already generating bipartisan support for his agenda...

Texas Governor George W. Bush today announced Americans for Bush/Cheney, a grassroots coalition consisting of Democrats, Independents and Republicans who support Governor Bush's candidacy. Governor Bush also announced the national steering committee for Americans for Bush/Cheney. These Americans believe Governor Bush will unite our country around goals larger than politics and set a new, civil, and positive tone in Washington.

"As Governor of Texas, I worked with a Democrat legislature to pass meaningful reforms in education, welfare, and tort reform. I reached across party lines because I wanted every Texan to have a better life," said Governor Bush. "As President, I will set an agenda to strengthen Social Security, modernize Medicare, and give all Americans tax relief. I will reach across party lines to achieve this agenda and a better life for Americans."
