Question: Do you believe space exploration is important? How big a priority will NASA be during your administration? What should our focus in space be: medical and scientific research, colonization, a Mars landing, or something else?
Submitted from Alex of Cedar Falls, Iowa through Yahoo! (10/20/00)

Answer from Patrick J. Buchanan:

NASA Achievements Benefit Life On Earth
Space exploration is important for our nation to continue.

I believe we must direct the space program toward efforts that will improve our lives on earth. Scientific and medical research must be a priority as well as achieving a space-based missile defense system that will enhance our national security.

NASA also plays an important role in the advancement of the aviation industry. Research and development of new aircraft that will make air travel safer, faster and more affordable must be continued.
