Policy for a Networked Society: Policy Participation

Markle Fellows at Oxford University, United Kingdom
Date Initiated: June 2001

In June 2001, the Markle Foundation created the Markle Fellowship at Oxford University. These fellowships were designed to encourage individuals and institutions to develop comparative approaches to communications law and policy issues. Among the goals of the program were increased sharing of information on comparative institutions, developments, and best practices; the maintenance of a global governance network; and the identification of new leading thinkers on policy from around the world who can contribute to and expand the Markle network.
