Terms of Use

Part of Markle’s mission is to promote responsible information sharing. That responsibility includes ensuring that blog posts and comments meet a clear set of guidelines and are consistent with the values of the community we serve. This Terms of Use policy was developed to govern the responsible posting of content on this site.

All users agree to act responsibly at this site. We reserve the right not to post, or to remove after its posting, any content that, at our sole discretion, we deem to be in violation of our guidelines. Such content may be removed immediately and without notice, and further postings by the individual may be blocked.

  1. Political Activity: As a private foundation, Markle is prohibited from supporting attempts to influence the outcome of any election for public office or engaging in lobbying activity. Accordingly, these types of content are prohibited:
    • a.    We do not post or allow content that expressly or impliedly endorses or opposes any candidate for public office.
    • b.    We do not post or allow content that encourages others to contact a government official to express support for, or opposition to, any pending legislation.  In addition, hyperlinks to Web sites or pages that contain these types of content, or that direct users to such materials, are prohibited.

    • a.    Do not post content anonymously.
    • b.    Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable is strictly prohibited.
    • c.    Content that falsely states or otherwise misrepresents your identity, affiliation with the Markle Foundation, or any person or other entity will result in revocation of your account and participation privileges.
    • d.    Do not post confidential business or personal information, or content that infringes any trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party.
    • e.    Content that makes available unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, sweepstakes, junk mail, spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any similar form of solicitation is strictly prohibited.
