The Golden Triangle Story
For more than a century, Mississippi’s Golden Triangle has been a part of America that people often felt they had to flee if they had any hope of a better life. Joe Max Higgins and Brenda Lathan have worked together to change that perception, creating private-public partnerships between private employers, leading education institutions and government to foster a manufacturing hub that serves as a national model. In ten years, their efforts have transformed the Golden Triangle, generating more than $4.6 billion in private investments and creating 5,600 jobs.
